Quest for $10,000 Part 5

Contestant's Log, Stardate; -308772.31

Well here it is, Day 9! Woo! The shirt is still in great shape and smells faintly of Irish Spring. Not funky in the least. This despite what was a most energetic end to Day 8.

We had snow! I know, not that uncommon an occurrence here in Newfoundland, but the main thing of note is that myself, along with a lot of other contestants out there had to shovel/snowblow/clear our driveways while sporting the ever popular Ten Grand TShirt.

Now I know I made a promise in previous entries. I said that if it came to it, that I would be out clearing my driveway in the tshirt and shorts to complete the summer look. That didn't happen this evening for two reasons; 1) I looked high and low in my apartment, turned the place upside down but I couldn't find my shorts. 2) The temperature, with windchill, was somewhere around minus 'nipples fall off' degrees. Now I can be a little nuts sometimes, but I'm not crazy. Well, not that crazy as to risk pneumonia just for a cheap laugh... actually I am! But like I said, I couldn't find my shorts.

This seemed to upset more than one reader (I have readers, when did that happen?) when I posted a picture on Facebook of me using the snowblower, fully clothed for winter. One person even offered to fund raise to get me out there in the tshirt and a pair of women's booty shorts, that got a heck of a lot of positive response. That tells me one thing, you people are sick! And I love each and every one of you!

The biggest surprise was that I was able to stretch the shirt as much as it did. I was wearing a tshirt, a hooded sweatshirt, a fleece jacket and then the contest tshirt. It was an awe inspiring feat to see me add each layer under the shirt as I was wearing it. This I accomplished through meditation and contortion taught to me by a Yogi I met years ago in one of my out of body travels to Shangri-La. Those Shambala Masters, I tell you, they are amazing. Sadly there are not pictures or video to document the process as I agreed to never share those secrets with anyone. Though guys if you want an idea, ask a woman how she unstraps and removes a bra and then pulls it out of her shirt sleeve. It's a similar process, but reversed, and without the clasps.

Fear not, gentle readers. We have another storm brewing for Wednesday! That's Day 10 for those of you keeping score at home, and I am off work for the next two days. So I have plenty of opportunity to find my summer shorts, or make an expedition to Wal*Mart to get a new pair. Fair is fair, I did promise a picture of some snowblowing in shorts and it will happen. Plus the temperature forecast doesn't seem bad and the winds will be lower than they were this evening. Excelsior!

Later

- Steve
